testing surround 5.1 system

hey guys. i just installed my 5.1 system and plugged each cord into the PC. Is there any program/movie/game that can test if the surround is working besides just simple sound coming out?

sound comes out of each satellite but when i try to test speakers on CS:source test, rear right and rear left dont play any sounds.

If you have an Audigy2, go to the console for speakers and test each speaker's channel.

Yeah, some soundcards / integrated sound will have little speaker test programs that will say "front right" etc. and it will come out the speakers that it says (hopefully 😉).

If it's just the rears that aren't working, make sure you have everything including windows sound control set up to 5.1

If your speakers have a "fade", make sure the rears aren't turned down all the way.
