Testing Raid/Hotswap feature

I'd like to know if I can just pull out a drive out of my raid 1 setup. It is an LSI raid controller onboard an Intel mobo. I installed the HDSPY utility and would like to verify that this feature works. I have a backplane. Can I just pull one of the drives? Theoretically it should remaing running right?

Will it mark the drive "BAD" if I pull out? I don't have any spare drives at the moment so can I just plug the drive I pull out back in? or will I have to reformat that drive before using it?

mobo: Intel SE7230NH1LX Socket T (LGA 775) Intel E7230 ATX

thanks

Yep.

It better.

You will need to 'rebuild' the array (basically, copying the data back over from the good drive). Consult your RAID controller/software's documentation for instructions.
