Testing new PSU

Is there a way to test a new PSU before putting it into your comp? I just want to be sure nothing will expolde in my new pc.

psu testers are widley available, just make sure you have a load on it before testing, such as a hard drive

you can short 2 pins together to start it. i forgot which 2 color pins though, lol.

What is i plug it into an old comp and see what happens after running for a while.

Get a tester online. You can't just short out a couple pins on the connector as itr suggests - not without putting some kind of dummy load on it, or you'll damage it. Testers are cheap and anyone doing any kind of computer work should have one.

You need to short the green pin and any blakc pin.
