Testing Google Voice Transcription

So I decided to test my google voice, I called my number and left a voicemail, this is what I read:

We are continually faced by great opportunities brilliantly disguised as insoluble problems - Lee Iacoca

This is what google texted me:

hi we are continually faced by craig opportunities brilly we discussed is insoluble problems we iacocca

Though to be fair, because I was reading it off of an inspirational poster, I was talking kinda fast.

I had someone call my GV number a few times and leave descriptive voicemails. The transcription was never anywhere near perfect, but you did clearly get the idea of what they were telling you on the voicemail. Overall, I could use it to decipher the content of the message, even if it wasn't perfect.

Pretty neat feature, though.

I haven't given my GV# out to too many people yet. Here are a couple anyway:

From the wife:
Perfect transcription : it's me this is my work number call me K love you bye

non-sensical transcription : hey it's me tonight i've gotta my little he spoke to you on the went well and to rate fix it so call me back i love you bye
Should be: "hey it's me wanted to know what happened to my little kitty sculpture in the window and for you to fix it, so call me back, i love you, bye"...to be fair, the connection was bad and she was mumbling trying to be quiet.

....goddamn cat knocked a sculpture off a window ledge and broke it.

Mostly perfect transcription : hello this is frank calling from breaks plus i have an estimate for the work to be done on your C R V please give me a call at (###) ###-#### thank you
