The people that claim there are no differences at all are just as naive and ignorant as the "audiophiles" that hear massive differences from amps and cables that objectively measure the same and subjectively sound the same.

The cable argument is iffy, but you can certainly find many high-quality DACs and amps that are noticeably difference.

Granted, the biggest difference will always be in the speakers or headphones. Start there first. The other gear will provide more subtle differences unless they're woefully underpowered or don't match up with the audio reproduction gear.
