I'm thinking of selling my old geforce 3 ti200. The problem here is that it's been just sitting (in a static-free bad thingy) in a box for the last few weeks and I'd like to test it to make sure I'm not going to end up accidentally ripping anyone off.
Now, my current system has a 9500 pro in it and I've heard bad things about switching card brands if you're not planning on reformating. Is there any truth to that? The last thing I want to do is screw up the drivers and have to backup and reformat. IS there any "good" way to switch them that would cut down on the chance of future problems.
Also, I was thinking of switching cards, turning the PC on, just looking to see if the screen came on and the fan started up, and then shutting the system down before windows could be loaded. Do you think that would be fine, and would it be a somewhat sufficient test?
Any help would be greatly appreciated here.
