As an answer to your topic description, who is stupid enough to buy a $300k car without a test drive?

Agreed. I'm sure there are PLENTY of collectors and millionaires who don't give a damn how it drives and are happy to just plunk the cash down for one so they can have it in the garage. The people who would want a test drive either haven't driven one before and are looking to see how it feels or they are about to buy their first 100K plus car and probably aren't filty right, just really rich :p

Nearly every single person who buys a car like that. Nobody who is going to buy a Ferrari needs to test drive it.

Boy, I don't agree with that at all. You seem to be assuming that "nearly every single person" who buys a Ferrari is so brand-conscious that they'll buy the car without regard to whether they like the way it drives and/or whether they are comfortable in it. I disagree. Most (note I did not say "all"!) people with that kind of money are not complete morons. If I suddenly had $100M in the bank, I would quite likely want an F430, but I wouldn't buy one without driving it first.

I can guarantee you, those that are not repeat customers(aka F355 or F360 stepping up to F430 buy a ferrari because they love driving, not because they want to make a rap video.

They have plenty of options in that price range, GT2, F430, 8C Competizione, Gallardo LP-560-4, Aston DB9, etc, all of which have incredible prestige. Do not tell me no one at least test drive a car or one similar to it(in the case of the 8C which is preorder limited edition, Maserati Coupe) before buying.

It's a sad, cynical, incorrect reality when you assume 4000 Gallardos and 2000 DB9s per year go exclusively to rap video shoots and private collectors.

Yea, the 430's competition is pretty stiff. This isn't the enzo where they choose who has the privilege of purchasing one.
