Kudos to Jim Witkowski(gosharkss) of Cornerstone/MonitorsDirect for developing this useful tool. This little testing program requires no software download, all you need is InternetExplorer. This program stands out because of the information and guidance it gives throughout the test, definitely better than similar programs out there like the one from Nokia. Give it a try, people!

It's very similar to the nokia tool with the TFT tests added. TFT's do far better than CRT's since they require no adjustments whatsoever!

My KDS 19" flat screen did pretty well. There was a bit of fuzziness at the very edges and some convergency loss at the same places, but overall very good.

The response to my toolkit has been overwhelming, now I?m sitting here saying to myself why? There are better monitor test programs, DisplayMate and the Nokia test program are good examples. You have been very kind with your words however nobody has told me why you like / dislike the program or how to make it better.

Is it because its Flash based and no downloads required?
Is it because it takes over the entire screen in a Windows environment?
Because its free?

I like it because it's convinient, requiring no downloads or installs, it's easy to use, and it gives excellent directions and information in the "What to look for" and "What to do" boxes. Will you consider letting people download it so they can run it on their PC without connecting online?

one of the corners of my monitor is slightly out of focus.... but i've noticed this before anyway

One thing has been forgotten for CRT tests that I think is crucial. Screen regulation! A poorly regulated power supply will cause the screen to "jump" as one goes from a light field to a dark and vice versa. Monitors that I've used with exceptional regulation are Sony, NEC, and Nokia. The not so good ones were Viewsonic and Hitachi. The cheap ones are really really bad.

Iv'e never seen it on my Hitachi monitor.
Hitachi's are very good monitors indeed
