These temp scores are with my Processor 2.4c running at 3.3ghz 1.50v (1.48 actual). I recently bought the thermalright SP-94 beacause of the heatpipe factor. I'll make this quick 🙂

Zalman 7000-CU stock fan
Normal Mode
2400 RPM ± 10%
25.0 dB ± 10%
CFM ???

Thermal Right SP-94 YS tech fan 66.3 cfm 40DBA 3100RPM

Case temp: 31c

Zalman Idle(15mins): 40c-41c

TR SP94 Idle(15mins): 38c-39c
--------------------------------------

2x Prime 95 1HR

Zalman: 59c-60c

TR SP94: 52c-53c

Three items to notice.
One cfm of the YS-tech which is higher 66.3CFM
Second is the dba rating of the zalman 25dba VS 40dba.
Third the SP94 alot lighter weight: 588g qouted by another source site. Zalman weight: 773g.

Personally the SP-94 rocks and was very much worth the $50. 😀

That's a huge noise difference.... But if your comp was locking up w/ the Zalman because of heat, then it's good that you fixed that.... Otherwise you traded noise for a number.

ya thats true. but the reason i got it was i felt i could squeeze more out of my cpu. But i'll see once i get my replacement PSU. If i dont i'll just slow down the fan.

What are you using all that power for? Encoding video\audio? I can't think of anything that needs that much CPU power... Even games of today are GPU limited. Sounds like you'd be better off updating your video card rather than spending $50 on a hsf. Unless you don't game...

ya video encoding. Thats why i chose intel over amd. Also for photoshop. I dont game very much as you can tell by my awesome v-card 🙂. Though it has crossed my mind to upgrade. maybe to a radeon 9600-9700...

So I guess you're running a 275mhz FSB w/ your memory at 220mhz (440mhz DDR)? Sounds like you could squeeze at least... 233mhz out of the ram, which would put your processor FSB at ~291, for a total 3495mhz.... Although it's doubtful that your processor would do it. Still, worth a shot. And I hear that every mhz shaves off a couple seconds of encoding....

All I ever do is surf these forums anyways... everything at stock speed (waste of pc3500)
