So I made a simple website, and wanted some people to have a look at it....

Link

tell me what you think, and if you see anything broken...(The IT link doesn't work yet because I haven't made the page, but I'm not worried about that right now). If you do find something odd, please tell me if you use IE or FF or Whatever.

Thank you to Unheard for hosting the site temporarily so I'd have a PHP server to test on!

If you make the home page one way do not deviate from that layout... such as your home page and many other pages have a "News Feed" on the left hand side while your "News" page itself and your "Resume" page does not.

Also if you plan to do a layout like your homepage try to implement some frames so when you click on a link the whole page does not have to refresh making a weird flicker on the screen versus just one frame refreshing...

I'm with clamum on not needing the frames...and with purbeast0 not to include it on your resume;) Needs a bit of polish appearance wise, pretty dark for my tastes, but it's functional, so that's a start... :D

Don't have a fixed width. Use CSS/HTML to make it expandable if the window is resized. Read up on modern web page programming, as it shows that you haven't done anything in a while (IE it looks like a site from 2000, not 2007.)

Thank you, I never realized you could do that with CSS...you know offhand what the property is that I'd adjust? I have a list of every CSS property you can set but it's a huge list

lol it's not the parents actually.

When my grandmother was pregnant with my mom, my grandfather built it on the shore in Old Saybrook. After my grandparents passed on they left it to my Aunt because they knew she'd be fair about letting everyone use it.

Make sure to steer clear of frames. It's horrible.

Use CSS, and PHP includes to minimize bandwidth consumption and user load levels.

Those are my biggest tips, along with if you need a php test server install Uniserver software on your PC (or any other LAMP software) to have a mySQL server, Apache, and PHP capabilities.

Hope I could be of service!

do you think a green/yellow gradient of some sort would look better for the background?
