I was just getting 750kB/s from the OP.

From Aphex's site, it reached 1400kB/s then finished. Need a bigger file to test max speed.

Depends on the path it takes. Routing/peering/how many ISPs it goes through to get to you. It's not cut and dry.

On a side note, i've heard nothing but horror stories about Godaddy's webhosting.

100KB/s from there

weird, i get about 55kbps from the OP's server, over 1000kbps from mine

i was getting 430-480 KB/sec. But i think that's cuz of my ISP. I would be happy with 400 KBps. If you dont mind me asking, how much do you pay for HostPC? The only reason I jumped on godaddy is because i got an awesome deal - 3 years for $100

I pay about $4/mo

Right now they are running a 2 for 1 (till the 18th)

$40/year for 10gb space / 100gb transfer

Been with em for over a year, couldn't be happier

OP - suggest they have a routing/path problem (BGP). I took a look at at few route-servers.

I just downloaded that video file at 830kb/s. The fastest I've ever downloaded anything is from www.gamezone.com and it stays steady at 930kb/s. I'd say the speeds are rockin' tonight.

Edit: I just pinged it at 59ms from Baldwin County, AL on 6mb mediacom cable.

called their tech support again. He left me on hold for 10 mins. came back saying this issue has been sent up to the NOC and he's looking at it. Tech support guys dont see a slowdown on my website, but it's definitely there as proven by this thread

Aharami - they didn't provide any kind of SLA on the speed nor do they advertise it as a strong point for the service, don't waste your time trying to get them to fix an issue because this is how it's supposed to run :p
