test my webhost's speed

I have my website hosted with godaddy.com. Lately, I havent been very happy with the speeds Im getting. I uploaded a video and in the process of downloading it now, but im getting ~40kbps. That is very slow IMO! Can you guys try downloading this vid and tell me what kinda speed you guys are seeing?

And has anyone ever experienced something like this before where webhost's speed isnt as advertised? If so how did you handle it? I plan on calling up their tech support, but need to arm myself with some ideas on how to handle this.

I get about 900-1000kbps from my site with HostPC

Started out around 540KBps and settled down to 380KBps..... That is Kilobytes per second.

dammit. so its not just on my end. anyone else hosted with godaddy and seeing such poor speeds? I have their three year linux based economy hosting (which is I think their shared hosting).

With a download manager, I was able to get 100-150 KB/s.

i was getting 430-480 KB/sec. But i think that's cuz of my ISP. I would be happy with 400 KBps. If you dont mind me asking, how much do you pay for HostPC? The only reason I jumped on godaddy is because i got an awesome deal - 3 years for $100

Its not my end. I just maxed out my connection at 1000KB/s downloading some videos.

I can hit 4.3MB/s using a lightpath OC3, but 100KBps using a Savvis OC3

Something's wrong with their routing.
