I'm ignoring this thread while trying to figure out how to use the cell phone (edit: LG 1400i on Cingular, for those who care to know) I just got. I feel like an old timer with this new technology. 😱

I felt the same way when I got my Motorola V265 (Verizon) last Christmastime. Good thing Motorola actually knows how to design a phone interface that's blindingly easy to learn. I tried using my Mom's Samsung phone and wanted to fling it out the window whenever I had to use it.
 
The small difference is that I've practically never touched a cell phone before, but my parents and I decided that it would be in our best financial interest to get a "family plan" with two phones, partly because we can call between the phones at no cost (they like that idea, but I may come to regret it later on... we'll see). The end result is that I feel very old fashioned trying, failing, and trying again to do what should be the simplest things on my phone. Maybe LG's UI design folks just suck; for my self esteem, I can pretend that they do. 😉
