Over on the Off Topics forum, a bunch of people got in trouble for a 'Nef fest' whatever that is. a couple got banned for months and 1 got banned permanently.

Given that there are many-fold more people over in OT than in DC, I'd imagine that'd play a role. There's also very little need to "police" the DC forum, as we tend to take care of alot of that ourselves. These occaisional Nef threads tend to be tolerated as long as they don't get out of hand, and it provides a place for us to go OT without munging the rest of the forum, IMHO.

Rest assured, this thread will indeed eventually die. I'm guessing there's no deep conspiracy to deny OT, while favoring DC. It's kinda like the difference between a barroom brawl, and a sanctioned fight. Both are fights, but one at least observes the Marquis of Queensbury rules. 😉

that wasn't really a nef fest, as much as it was a parody thread overun problem. I watched the insanity that night (about 1-2 weeks ago now) there where about 40 parody threads running rampant while the mods where on a really long break.
