sup all... I have been looking for info about mixing a 4870 and a 3870... after the hybrid CF drooling... some people wonder if that mix work...

Well.. I try to find out and all I got was, no, it dont work.. others say.. yes it do... like a hybrid CF... but I dont see any real test at all...

ok here is the point... I got a 4870x2, a 790GX chipset mobo. and vista 64... (hybrid cf only works in vista by the way)

My 3870 is moving around in a box... after i catch it up... if they stop running I will test the blend of 3870 an 4870x2.. and tell u the rest of the story...

If anyone else want to pitch in and try... tell us which 38xx u have, the 48xx also.. and how u config is. like mobo.. OS and cat version.. and tell us if they fail or work...

Ok I have my 4870x2 and the 3870 in the computer.. and so far the computer is working lol.. both cards detected...

Riva tuner now show 3 gpus lol!

now lets see if they really show some functionality at all...

They will both work, but you won't be able to run them in crossfire mode.

yepp.... that is the point... is good if you want desktop in one monitor and play in other lol... and dont want yoru desktop to suck one of your cards.. of course if u have tons of ram to power up that thing...

but of course is much better to hit alt tab lol
