As someone that lives in a city with a lot of pedestrian and bike traffic, and seeing how terrible local drivers are, that "fun of it" thought terrifies me.

That thing is going to have a lot of momentum for your average driver to throw around at those sorts of acceleration. Luckily there wont be any around here but if there were I could see them getting fished out of ditches on a regular basis!

I hear you. I fly sometimes, but then I have to rent a car. Yeah, it's a 10 (or more sometimes) hour drive, but I usually have others with me so it's cheaper.

Yeah, a trip of 600 miles is like driving NYC to Detroit or Boston to Virgina Beach, each being 10-11 hour drives without breaks. That's a pretty crazy drive, even when sharing the ride.

Pff, that's just around the corner on this side of the pond. I did a solid 900 mil day after Christmas this year, driving back from family. Didn't care for it mind you, but it still beat staying over in some seedy motel.

EDIT: Man, amazing, that's about the distance from London to Vienna. Though I'd clear it a lot faster since they'd let me drive at a decent speed. Stupid 60mph speed limits.

You are obviously not from the US. I've driven 600 miles and seen nothing but corn. Once in a while a fence... To make sure the corn doesn't runaway.

In '91, I went from Northern Virginia to California in about three days, stopping in Oklahoma City to rent a motel room and sleep for about six hours.
