Hamas blesses attack
In Gaza, the Islamic militant Hamas praised the attack but stopped short of claiming responsibility. Thousands of Palestinians poured into the streets to celebrate, firing rifles in the air.
*****************

Gunning down seminary students. That's bravery right there. Meanwhile, same article:

Palestinians killed in airstrike
In a separate development, an Israeli airstrike killed four Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, the Islamic Jihad militant group and the Israeli army said.

The Islamic Jihad said four of its members were killed in the missile strike near the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis. It said they were planting an explosive device to target Israeli army patrols.

An Israeli army spokesman said the attack was aimed at a number of gunmen who were planting explosives in the same area an Israeli soldier was killed earlier on Thursday.

******************

Hmm, one side directs attacks at students in schools, the other attacks armed men engaged in combat. Yep, morally equivalent. Oh, and no Israelis ran throught the streets celebrating the militants' deaths.

And no, I don't think all muslims are psychos like noobster.

Dude, sirjonk, honestly I'm surprised.

When I look at your posts, I normally make a disclaimer that says, "Warning: You will disagree with this guy."

But, I'm surprised.

You've obviously never partied in Eilat... awww, man... Goldstar beer... palm trees... clear water... hot half-naked dark-haired women everywhere... raves going until dawn... mmmm.... please don't wake me up!

Step 1: Go to Haifa and find a beautiful Israeli woman
Step 2: Take her south to Eilat and party like rockstars

Those were the days...

Sorry to go off-topic, but man, I thoroughly enjoyed Israel a few times... :)

I feel your pain, man.

Although, I have to disagree. Israeli women are hot. But Vietnamese women are hotter yet. :)

Talk about a threadjack.

Back in the early 90's while in the Navy, I spent a few days in Israel...most memorable and fun port-of-call I've ever experienced. I definitely want to go back someday when things cool down. One thing i can say about israeli's, they sure know how to have a good time.

Interesting, the article I read included this...

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which was greeted with celebrations in the Gaza Strip, where a recent Israeli offensive killed more than 120 Palestinians, about half of whom were identified as civilians.

Weird. So one article talks about 4 Pal's killed recently, and the other talks about another event where 120 were killed.

I apologize too. Got no business talking about this sort of thing given the nature of the Original Post.

One attack targeted civilians, one attack targeted armed militants resulting in civilian collateral damage.

Ex:
A man dives towards a baby carriage to save it from an oncoming truck...and pushes it into the way of a car, where the baby is killed.

vs

A man pushes a baby carriage in front of a car so the baby will get hit and die.

Ignore intent if you will. I think it makes a difference.

"We heard shooting and knew that something had happened," recounted Yitzhak Dadon, 40, who studies at the yeshiva. Dadon said he cocked his handgun and went up to the roof of the yeshiva, where he saw the terrorist spraying gunfire indiscriminately at the crowd inside. Dadon said he fired two bullets at the terrorist, who began to stumble.

 Fuck gun control

You are such a joke.

I seriously wish Israel would just engage in equal collateral damage. Like we did in Dresden. Just get rid of the cockroaches.

I'm not ignoring anything. I was just pointing out the difference in the two articles.

As for this conflict, I couldn't care less. I'm more concerned about what goes in our own country.

Israel can't retaliate, because the Palestinians would then claim that Israel is "disrupting the peace process" or something.

I wonder when Isreal's going to have enough and really take the gloves off and just turn the Palestinian areas into a big smoking crater.

can't turn it into a smoking crater because then its useless to you. Their goal is to try as hard to instigate the Palestinians so they can respond much more powerfully to slowly remove them from their own land. From their perspective they are winning the casualty numbers and the PR game so they will just keep squeezing until they've pushed all the Arabs to the sea.

and and just to add some content to this thread

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/talking_point/7270785.stm

its nice to know that JS80 has labelled Palestinians as less than human. I suppose its easier in his eyes to support the death of cockroaches than of humans.
