We've exchanged posts on this topic countless times before. I haven't gained anything from your posts so I don't really want to waste time with you again here.

I know what you're thoughts on this topic are. I was just asking if you could make it a bit more explicit...I wouldn't want to argue with you about it if I'm just making an assumption about what you meant 😉

I think the use of the term "insult" is interesting. I criticize Islam. I guess you never criticize religions? Do you want to just yell "bigot"? I'm sure you'll split hairs saying that's not what you want to do but that's certainly the tone of your condescending post. It's especially silly since if I recall correctly you've wrongly painted all Asians with similar "insults" like suggesting they are all misogynist and that it's not a religious thing but a cultural thing which is insulting to more people than my criticisms of Islam.

You criticize Islam when it's 3 guys in a van (or whatever) doing the deed. The unsupported generalizations about a religion practiced by many, many people around the world based on the actions of a few people IS kind of bigoted, don't you think?

Yeah, it's worse when most of the 'foiled terror plots' since 9-11 have been fbi stings where the fbi provided the fake bomb and found some lonely, unlucky guy on the internet to take the 20+ year prison sentence for playing their game.

No actual terrorists though. And yes, there's a huge difference.

When you tell me that terrorists were going to blow up a high rise in downtown Dallas where I am often... I shit bricks.

When you tell me there was never any danger because it was a fake bomb being planted by some guy the FBI was paying... well, that's a totally different story.

Same thing w\ the 'underwear bomber' too. Witnesses in court testified that he didn't have his paperwork to even get on the plane, and some dude in a suit got him cleared through security despite that.

wait, so does this mean it's ok to profile now?
or are we still too afraid to hurt feelings so we'll be stopping the old white lady in the wheelchair.

Profiling does not equal attempting to apprehend suspects with specific characteristics in relation to a specific threat. Profiling is the targeting of people when such a specific plot/whatever is absent.

Unsupported generalizations? Opinion poll after opinion poll show that shocking percentages of Muslims around the world have barbaric beliefs. The latest example is Obama's approval going down in the Muslim world because he dared to kill Osama Bin Laden.

My position is very simple. It's not that all Muslims are evil or terrorists (although I know you'd love it if that were my position). All religions are a bit silly, but today more murder is done in Islam's name than any other religion.

.

Would you look at this... A nonsense post in response to my post citing facts.

Maybe you don't read the news or no the facts.. if that's the case you should probably not post until you know about the subject matter you're attempting to make fun of.

Um to be perfectly fair, you didn't post or "cite" any "facts" all you posted were a bunch of statements with no credible sources that corroborate what you wrote. So, technically, your post was a "nonsense post."

F*** the media.
It's apparent they confuse somber remembrance of 9/11 with hyping the fears of 9/11. Who needs Bin Laden when we have CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, and Fox?
I say rent a few good movies, go on a family picnic and F*** the media coverage of 9/11. Or should I say their obsession to relive every single moment of tragedy.
And THIS is the same US media about to give us the 2012 election coverage?
Holy Shit!!!!!

Just think of the Taliban, spending the night, beating their wives, cowering on the floor to their "God," and how lucky we are.

WTF?

blah, we've heard this literally dozens of times since 911. One day there will be an attack, until then I don't even pay attention to these alerts.
Like I said, we get this crap all the time. I'm almost completely numb to it now. US gov has been the boy that cried wolf for a full decade.

Could jsut be the gov't making something up. Like I said earlier, the info collected upon Bin Ladens death included information that he wanted a 9/11/2011 attack.

4 scenarios:
1) Gov't says nothing ... no attack ..... Good
2) Gov't says nothing ... attack ..... Bad
3) Gov't says something ... no attack ..... Good
4) Gov't says something ... attack ..... Good

The only bad outcome form a political standpoint was to say nothing.

And Sunday is not over...

Since when are the terrorists going to tell us in advance what they're going to do. I saw that there were some threats on the whitehouse facebook page. Big deal. All it demonstrates is that there are some 12 year old kids in some foreign country who have a poorly developed sense of humor.
"hahahahaha! This will be great!"
"Ohhh, I know, tell them that there's three men and they look like Arabs!"
"OMG! That's great. Yeah, and we'll tell them that they're going to do a terrorist attack."
"How about bombs"
"Great! I'll use that."

What about 5). Government raises the threat level yellow/orange like a yo-yo. At my work, they are constantly testing the fire alarm almost every day ... sometimes they send out emails, most of the time it's just lights and alarms at random time. We now just ignore it and it's like background noise. What happens in a real fire? Who know what we will do because the fire alarms goes off almost every day. That doesn't do any good to announce it like Peter crying wolf unless they have credible information not "increased chatter."

having successfully installed a police state by doing 9/11 the government periodically has to put crap like this out there to justify maintaining it
