I've had it, after watching this saga unfold across the bay I have finally had enough of Terrell Owens. For those of you who dont know whats going on I suggest heading over to espn.com and reading up on it.

Apparently now TO has told Baltimore that he is not showing up for his physical and is again persuing free agency. I quote Owens from his website:

HV A GOOD DAY! DN'T SAY THT I'M BURNING BRIDGES WHN I'M NOT DOIN NOTHIN OF THE SUCH, DN'T TAKE IT PERSONAL THT I'M FIGHTIN 4 MY RITE 2 EXERCISE MY OPTION ACCORDING 2 MY CONTRACT! SORRY, IF I OFFENDED U OR U FEEL SLIGHTED BY THE FACT THT I WN'T B N B'MORE 2MORR 4 MY PHYSICAL!

After deciphering this complex code he seems to speak in (I had to recruit the services of an 11 year old on AOL) I have decided I hate him. I am glad he is out of SF and no matter how talented he is, he is not worth the hassle for any team. With the MLBPA refusing to let baseball players attempt to clear their name by submitting to drug testing, and now the NFLPA even considering siding with this moron on this issue I have lost all of my taste for professional sports besides the NBA, which is far from devoid of issues.

Ugh, thats all I have to say. Had to rant/vent. Ill leave you all with another TO gem...

U R NT RAY LEWIS, SO UR IQ MUST B WORST THAN MINE IF U THINK I'M GONNA BELIEVE THIS! U R 2 FUNNY! HOLLA BACK RAY LEWIS

I don't think he represents all that is wrong with sports. I think he represents all that is wrong with dysfunctional, mentally challenged, multi-millionare 9 year olds trapped in adults bodies.

not just sports, he represents what's wrong with our society today. for us to pay entertainers (and i include all athletes, musicians, actors etc in this group) as much money as we do is a travesty.

Well of course that too. I have never wished harm on anyone but if hhis by a bus, I would say karma was in the house.

I strongly disagree. It's simple economics in a capitalist society. Supply and demand. Lots of people want to watch great football, but great football players are few and far between. I think he's entitled to every dollar he's paid. Why do you think it's a travesty?

TO is an exception. For every TO there are tons of classy playes: Bret Favre, Michael Strahan, Manning. In the end he's just huring himself because he won't get as lucrative a contract, as he'd get if he weren't such a nuisance.

I'll agree on the economic perspective. Capitalism at it's finest. Trying to get as much money as possible is the very founddation of our economy, blame the people that pay it for him. If his playing didnt generate enough money to offset, people wouldnt pay it. Is it wrong? Yes. Is it the way it will always be? Yes. I'm am more appalled by the fact that he doesnt realize that in exchange for taking those millions of dollars, that he is in fact the property of the team that are paying those dollars to him.

i think the fact that the demand is high is what's wrong. we live our lives vicariously. no one DOES anymore, they all watch.

it is reminiscent of Rome and the gladiators. the emporers appeased the people with games even tho the economy was going bad.

Same thing with reality TV. People are so engrossed with whats going on in other peoples lives that no one goes out and does anything themselves anymore. I know that I will never be a pro athlete, but I'll be damned if I dont go out and lay down my health so that the ball does not get by me in softball. It hurts, but its better than watching someone else do it.

Yes, we all watch football, because we are pretty goddamn sure we will never be able to play football on that level. We enjoy watching the game played on a level that we can't possibly play at. I don't see what's so bad about that.

Another vote for hockey ! :D

Sadly the NHL is going down in flames unless a new CBA is reached. Paying a single player $11mil per season (yes, my Caps did that for Mr. Jagr) in a TEAM sport is outrageous. Cap the salary limit per team and they can learn to live with each other like they're supposed to. Compromise and win together. The biggest market doesn't have to have the best players. :|

Hopefully more teams will follow the Patriots style. There's always someone out there to replace you for a cheaper cost, and they have a couple superbowls to prove it.

I wish it were, those are his replies copied and pasted here. If he could articulately argue his point I doin't think I would be quite as pissed off, but since he just adds fuel to the fire
of being an immature, self-centered, retarded fvckstick, it gets me a little deeper.

Yeah, I hope the NHLPA realize that it's not ALL about how much the players get paid. I wish they could come up with a system where capitolism can remain intact, and I never have to hear about a team may be moving due to financial issues. (Well, unless they are moving to Portland, of course. ;) )

PSA: this is only a figure in a form of entertainment known as a sport. Please do not get all riled up over 1 person's antics, especially when he has no bearing on your life.

LOL. TO brings a real flamboyance to the game and I like it. Showboating is great and it brings out passion. And when guys of this caliber can back it up IMO the talk all the trash they want. And to defend him in the latest scenario, this really is not his fault. It was an error somewhere overlooked in the contract and he went out and struck a deal with the team he had been saying all along he wanted to play for. So in my book his being upset is warranted. He has the right to play for who he wants. The last time I checked we have the right to work for who we want. The signing of the football in the end zone will be remembered forever. The guy just luvs to play the game and have fun. And by the way I am a Giant fan so I don't have any bias for him at all.

Ummm, unfortunately this is his fault. A man who trusts blindly in others to handle his affairs has no right to complain when somethign goes wrong. If he were that concerned he should have kept an eye on it himself. He is the property of a team, he goes where they tell him to go or he doesnt get paid. TO is more interested in putting the focus on himself then where it should be...on the team. Celebrating brings out passion, showboating brings out the morons.

actually, he did, if i understand the situation correctly, he waited one extra day because the 23rd was the deadline at which point SF could declare him a franchise player or something, somehow he and his agent didn't understand that it was also the deadline. TO is complaining that setting those deadlines up in such a way made it impossible for him to get a fair deal.

i saw his interview the other night on espn.

Just because he gets screwed HARDCORE by his agent, then screwed by the 49ers, and he won't be making the kind of money he was looking forward to making, he represents all that is wrong with sports?

Lame.
