While I think he's acted like a jerk too often, I feel bad for the guy.

The article says he never lived/spent lavishly, yet he's broke. To blow $80 million on bad investments suggested to him by his advisors sucks.

Sad common story with celebrities who come from nothing and then all of a sudden make a ton of money. They trust people around them to take care of their wealth instead of learning themselves. Tupac died broke, Mike Tyson got robbed by his promoters and now TO. Those who make it took control of their own empire and invested smartly such as JayZ, Diddy, and 50 Cent..

I remember running into him while shopping at Macy's @ Valley Fair when he played for SF. A couple employees went up to talk to him & shake his hand & he just walked away. Total douche. I would never have sympathy for him.

If he could get his head right, he probably could still start on almost every team in the league. Unfortunately, that will never happen. I wonder if he gets into the HOF on the first ballot (probably not) or ever (probably).

He signed up with the Indoor Football League last I heard, playing for some team in Dallas.

One of the most prolific wide receivers of the late 90s and 2000s. Caught passes from Steve Young and Donovan McNabb. He's second to Jerry Rice in career receiving yards. He's also famous for his ridiculous touchdown celebrations and for being a primadonna who is locker room poison, at least in his later years.

The Eagle Vision is making a comeback?

yup, the dream team come back in 2012 with the new nike uniform.

Owens blames the media...
Owens blames agent Drew Rosenhaus...
Owens blames Donovan McNabb...
Owens earned around $80 million during his NFL career...
Owens let other people manage his money for him...
Owens can't keep his johnson in his pants and has kids with 4 different women...
Owens really doesn't have my sympathy.

I'm not one to relish in other people's misery....but I gotta say that it's awful hard to muster up much sympathy for a guy who got to live out endless number of childhood dreams playing football for a living and making more money doing that than many of us will make in 40 or more lifetimes.

Ok, who divorced him? If a woman didn't do this, then it's his own damn fault. :p

he never got married, and yet he has to pay around $46K monthly in child support to four different women! Not to mention that he has zero contact with three of the kids! I have no sympathy for him either. A fool and his money are soon parted.

...

"I don't have no friends -- I don't want no friends," Owens says.

If he had any that thought they were his friend, he's now alienated them too.

TO is a professional hole digging dirt diver. Few create their own problems better than himself.

I feel really bad honestly. The guy is a douche no doubt but at the end of the day he paid someone to take care of his money and they did not do that and he has no recourse. If it was any one of us and not T.O. I'm sure we'd be up in arms over it.

You don't need someone to manage your money if you make $80 million. Just save it, spend wisely and wear a condom. I am not against having a financial planner, but with that amount you can live well.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 80 million times? At some point you've got to take some personal accountability for your savings. We aren't talking about some delerious old senior citizen getting taken for a ride by a crooked salesman. He's a 30-40 year old man who has to have some mental capabilities to be able to succeed at the levels he did.

TO is a douche, which is why no one has sympathy.

and btw, not having sympathy does not equal happiness. i am not happy with his negative life situations, though i won't be shedding a tear any time soon either.

Your average person could live very well off the interest alone.

I'm not happy to hear he (or anyone for that matter) has gone broke, but I certainly have no sympathy for him either.

Old lesson of today: It is not how much you make, but how much you save.
