I am also one of the people who doesn't get the love for this game. I bought it after buying TOWNS (which i like alot, and might be the only one who does) I heard Gnomaria and Terriaria where much better games, i don't agree. I have put several hours into it. I don't feel like I'm building something, its more a just keep moving thing (to me). My guess is I simply don't know how to play the game. So question- where is a good Youtube or tutorial on the game. All the love I just feel I must be missing something.

I definitely don't think it's a "keep moving" type of game. You should be building a base of operations and a bunch of additional houses for NPC's that'll move into your town/base. Eventually when you explore so far away from your main base, you can build satellite houses with beds to set a new respawn point, but your main base will generally remain intact.

Game is generally open ended, but there are "tiers" of zones of increasing difficulty. It's not unlike Zelda, where you go from zone to zone collecting weapons and tools before progressing to the next zone.

Thanks will check it out tonight after work for sure. I know its a learning thing, but I just wasn't grasping it. One reason i like this type of game, some investment in learning can produce some pretty deep game-play. I Think my issue was learning a different game ( which is 3D) then moving to 2D building/world explore.. I was just lost so got frustrated.

thanks again
