I keep a white wax wood pole in my room. I've had it for about 6 months and every few weeks I'd notice a little bit of dust at the bottom of the pole (I keep it standing up leaning against the wall). I'd just vacuum it up and think nothing of it. But today I noticed much more then usual so I inspected the pole and found 8 little holes in various places around the base.
White wax wood is fairly flexable but it snapped when I tested it and lots of powder spilled out. then after inspecting the powder I found what looked like fly maggots. No legs or anything, Just litte things that looks like maggots, I crushed one it it had juice inside. They are maybe 1/8 on an inch in length. really small.
I believe the wax wood poles were imported from china.
I threw away the pole in the dumpster already.
Should I be worried about termites?
Suggestions please.
