I watched most of an episode tonight. (bored...nothing else on)
What utter crap. The main character looks nothing like the original Sarah Connor, the other characters seemed lifeless and stiff. The story line wasn't TOO bad...for an hour-long made for tv weekly show, but definitely lacking in depth or quality.

I can't believe so many people here raved about the show...Are you THAT hard up for entertainment that you'll watch crap and convince yourselves that it's good, just because it has "Terminator" in the title?

i think it got good towards the end, and everyone likes the girl who played the terminator.

I wasn't a huge fan of the first season, but the second season was awesome (pretty much after Shirley Manson joined the show)

and I lust after John Connor a little bit.

you watched one episode of a series that has a continuing story and judge it from that?
:p

all in all the tv series is way better than the last 2 films. they actually took it in a direction that was more well thought out than the latest film thats for sure.

Well...one episode SHOULD be enough to judge the quality of writing and acting.

Even though I didn't really see it as one of the terminator series, I almost liked Terminator Salvation. Still not a GREAT movie, but IMO, better than #3.

Of course, MOST weekly hour-long shows aren't all that great...and even with the ones that start out good, the writers soon seem to run out of fresh material...and the quality goes into the crapper.

The world they were building was close to what that guy has written up for the t1000/skynet.
Not every episode was golden, they had to find their way, but all in all it was a show that had potential, and it was sad when it got cancelled.

I liked it, though I must state I desperately want to bang Lena Headey.

Parts of the series were slow/boring, but sadly things were just getting interesting again when it was canceled.

Dont want to give anything away but the massacre set to the song by Johnny Cash "When The Man Come Round" matches the best choreographed 3 minutes or so of any TV program ive ever seen.

Second year was MUCH better.

I liked that show a lot, but my opinion of it was always that about 1/3 of the episodes were just terrible. There were a few episodes in the first season, and a bunch in the second, that really made the show worth watching, but due to the expected cancellation even the series finale was a mess.

As far as Lena Headey not looking like Linda Hamiton: who really cares? At the end of the day I'd rather they choose the actors based on their ability to play the characters, not on how close they look to the previous actors who played those roles.

That being said, the real stars of this show were Garrett Dillahunt, Brian Austin Green, and on occasion Richard T. Jones. I suppose you could say that Shirley Manson played her character well because she really was cold/lifeless but I wasn't all that impressed.

Unfortunately, the 1st season was cut short because of the writer strike. So IMHO the 1st season wasn't as strong as it could have been. The 2nd season had some great episodes but also multiple episodes that just kind of sucked. In my opinion they where writing like the had 4+ seasons to finish all the story arcs and just took to long to develop everything. The 3 dots where annoying. It was also annoying to find out at the end that the "Turk" that they where searching after was being developed to help the humans as a friendly AI. That there was another Skynet out there and it wasn't the Turk. The end of season 2 was a cliff hanger that just pissed you off because it was the end of the show. They basically spent season 2 dealing with the 3 dots, Riley or other crap instead of really going after Skynet. Basically crappy writing.

I enjoyed the show, but if it was not part of the Terminator franchise I wouldn't have been much interested.

Meh, I thought the first two episodes sucked ass, and it was a shit show. A few episodes later it grew on me, and I was hooked during the second season.

Cromartie actually grew on me. I hated him as a terminator at first but in the end he did all right. The other terminator(Vick Chamberlain) that was in LA looked exactly like Brett Favre

So you're saying that you've never watched a TV series and thought it was crappy at first but later realized it was actually good?

If you'd only caught the "planet of male chauvinist pigs that Carter must edumacate" episode from season 1 of Stargate SG-1 you'd think that series was awful too.

... and I didn't watch Firefly when it was on Fox because they started with the train robbery episode, which was weak without having seen the pilot or the other episodes before it (that Fox decided to skip).

I rarely have the patience to watch crappy TV. A series usually only has one chance to attract me as a viewer. If the show is bad, I almost never try again.
