Terminator 5 and 6

Yes, I said T5 and T6.

After T4, I think we all thought the same thing. But we ignored the foreign box office. Terminator Salvation doubled the box office numbers of the recent Star Trek in the overseas markets. Total box office in take was $341 million. So, 5 and 6 have been greenlit!

5 and 6 are in fact being worked. But the planned trilogy is out. They are going back to the old formula. Travel back and time good vs bad story.

Lol, I haven't even watched T3 yet, is it any good?

...I was disappointed with both T3 and T4. Up to you really, but lower your expectations as always. After T2, just sigh. It's actually kind of like the Aliens franchise after Aliens 2, in the rapid deterioration of quality.

The travel back to the past thing is done. I'd rather see them follow the story arc started with Salvation.

5 could be a Empire Strikes Back type movie and 6 would be the end of Skynet and the end of the war.

The biggest problem with T4 is that they killed off the most interesting character in the movie.

The fact that a lot of what happened made no sense also kind of ruined it. Like how does Skynet even know who Kyle Reese is? And why is Skynet collection humans when it should be killing them on site. etc etc

Research for T-1000 manufacturing. They need to make a better terminator, so you need to tune physical characteristics as well as human-human interaction. The job of a terminator is infiltration, so Skynet would never be able to create such a machine without actually learning about humans.

Maybe to harvest them for DNA to make the skin for the T800s?

They were collecting humans for the skin/organs weren't they?

I liked T4. I saw it for the first time last week. The best thing about T1 is that it made you scared the first time you saw it. It was suspenseful. It was dramatic. By todays standards its kind of corny, but bring those elements back to the next movie and keep it simple so we become emotionally involved.

T4 was suspenseful to a degree, but I would have liked to see more villiany. Christian Bale has the heart of semihuman now. Will the machines finally learn how to reprogram humans? Hmmmm....:hmm:

They should have taken $10 million from the $200 million budget of Salvation and dumped it into the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Moar of this:

I like the first 3 mucho, but that last one wasn't the greatest.

I preferred Terminator 4 to 3 and I thought they made a massive mistake killing off Marcus, since he was by far the best character. They could have also easily altered the ending so he didn't die.

Another one of those movie series where they completely ignore the action filled wars to focus on the boring aspects. Oh man, fucking nuclear war with robots v humans? Naw, let's just show a couple minutes of that and bait everybody on to watching people yell at each other.

Doesn't anyone realize it yet? Terminator is OVER without arnold. You just can not build the franchise around anyone else.

It's like trying to stick a PCIE card into AGP.. Yea most PCIE cards are 10x more powerful and expensive, but it is nothing without the SYSTEM that made T2 so great.

So millions of dollars, and millions more worth of CGI will not fill the jp;e left by ARNOLD S..

I disagree. They could have easily used someone else as the T800 right from the beginning and it would not have made the slightest difference. At the end of the day, the actors / actresses playing the unemotional terminators can be done by anyone that can act in a deadpan fashion.
