I wasn't sure where to post this... the rebate tracking thread gets little traffic and seems to be for tracking rebates that have been submitted already. I bought the 40 pack of Teon DVD+R's at staples on BF that has a $15 rebate. I thought it was an easy rebate, but there is no "Rebate offer number" listed that is required for easyrebates. As for mailing it in, under "Proof of purchase requiremnets:" it is blank, under "Rebate mailing address" it is blank, under "you should recieve your rebate within:" it is blank, and under "to check the status of your rebate, please visit/call:" it is blank. I figure someone else on here bought these, how did you submit your rebate? EasyRebates, no hassle my ass. :(

EDIT: Looking for advice about this rebate. Now that the status says waiting for the mail in portion, but there isn't supposed to be one, WTF? Just wondering what someone else with this rebate is doing.

The "Rebate offer number" is the "STAPLES Promotion #" 04-87544. That's what I used on their easyrebates site.

Well, i searched for it by the UPC number and found the form to print. It wants the rebate form and The Original Packing and Slip Store Receipt. I don't know what the original packing slip is since i bought it in the store. I guess i'll try doing the easyrebate site with that number, thanks phlashphire.

Edit: Well, i used the number on the easyrebate site, it located the correct rebate with no problem. I got to the last page where you enter your name and address, and press submit. Wait 2 minutes, then the page cannot be displayed. Did this twice. What a POS. I guess i won't be dealing with staples rebates in the future.

This is the first year they're using this -- there are bound to be kinks in the process. Learn to have a little patience.

Does anyone have the rebate offer number for the Maxtor 160 GB that was on sale? My receipt doesn't have the offer number but I have the easy rebates ID number. I need both to enter on their website.

I thought someone would say to have patience, and I understand that. However, i think a couple of things are beyond being patient. 1st, They asked for a "Rebate offer number" and provided a diagram of a reciept showing where this number was. Well, this area of the reciept is blank and i have to post on Anandtech to find out i should use the "Staples Promotion #". which is not printed on my reciept. Maybe that is obvious to some, but it isn't to me. Second, i can be patient while they take 2-3 days to fix their site, since this is the first time using it. However, now it is back up and "fixed", yet i try to submit and get a "page cannot be found". I don't think they should have put the site back up for me to fill out all of my information just so i can find out that they have not got it completly online. Last, I think it is a poor choice for them to leave the mailing address and contact info blank on my reciept. I know they want to encourage people to use their new online system, but if I still have the option of mailing it in (and given the online problems, i feel i have to) the required information should be printed on my reciept. I don't look at these things as something i should have to be patient with, I feel staples is making me jump through more hoops than a typical MIR. However, this is finals week for me, so my stress level is higher than usual, and I'm easily aggrivated right now. Thanks again for the info phlashphire, and maybe you're right Geoff, I should pick my battles and roll with the punches on this one.

I'm fighting the same battle you are -- my Staples rebate didn't have the ID for the DVD+R's and it keeps rejecting my rebate ID for the Netgear Wireless Router. is the answer. :) Eventually, the process will be much simpler. Hopefully...

It might take them a while to enter all the promotions into the database. I wasn't able to find the rebate promo for my DVD burner until this Monday.

I recieved an email about them recieving my rebate submission. There is a link to check the status, at the bottom it says:

We have not yet received the mail-in portion of your rebate; please allow 21 days from the mail-date for the rebate to be entered into our system.

I thought the whole point of me doing the easyrebate online was so I wouldn't have to mail something in.... sigh.
