Being born in 74 this cartoon was a bit before my time. and I'm sure the reruns had to be on the local station when I was small. But it's not something I watched, been binging it on YT and I vaguely remember a cartoon with a penguin and walrus so I probably did see it a few times when I was a child. Anyways, this shit is greatness and I'm mad I'm just discovering it at 46.

I was born in 79 and i like to think I am a connoisseur of fine animation but the truth is at least once a year I discover something new and think "why am I just now seeing this?"
Fun Fact: I talked to a dad recently and not only do kids not watch cartoons on Saturday morning, they never even HEARD of the practice.

Of course not, they have cartoons on demand via their tablet or smartphone.

Hell, I was happy when we got a second VCR, so I was allowed to take the old one, and I set it to record the Saturday morning cartoons so I didn't have to wake up at six in the damn morning :p

I always liked when they opened Dr Livingston's closet and an avalanche of junk came pouring out!

:D

And in many ways the world of my/our childhood(s) would be largely unrecognizable to young people now.

I used to watch it as a little kid in the late 1960's.

Wait until you discover the original Jonny Quest (1965).

Sucks I didn't get to watch this as a child, seeing it now every episode when they visit Phineas J. Whoopie to learn something, it legit teaches you something. I would have learned a lot without even realizing it, this show's pretty educational, but as a 5 year old I wouldn't have even noticed lol.

I watched this in the '70s when I was a kid. This, Flintstones, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Jetson's, Tom and Jerry, the WB cartoons. My favorite show as a kid though was Little Rascals/Our Gang, still get a kick out of those.

Cecil the Seasick Sea Serpent. Tom Terrific and Manfred, his mighty Wonder Dog. The whole Snagglepuss/Yogi Bear/Oggie Doggie and Doggie Daddy universe.

And let’s not forget Pink Panther and his entourage.

Boomer's telling tales. Probably trying to look hip to all the young cool kids. These are the cartoons he watched as kid...

Ageist comment. I would expect him to talk about the numerous times he jerked off to Jane Fonda and Barbra Streisand, along with being a hippie and procuring hair gel fashion techniques from California.

There was a whole bunch of more obscure stuff sandwiched into the better known ones.

Wacky Racers

Dudley Do-Right

I loved Wacky Racers and Laff-O-Lympics, Muttley & Dick Dasterdely are easily one of the greatest villainous duo of all time. Every race they were far enough in the lead to stop and set a trap to try and make everyone else crash, and always ended up losing in the process. If they just didn't stop to set traps they'd have won every time, but they were so evil they didn't care about winning they just wanted to wreak havoc.

So many things to say...almost all of which would earn me yet another vacation...or more.

Add Tooter Turtle to your list. For a long time, when my friends and I were doing something, and it would get sketchy, e.g. like a shark cruising us while surfing, I would say "Help me Mr. Wizard! I don't want to be a surfer anymore!"
