*Sigh*

Those rabid anime fans are trying to infiltrate anandtech with these fake, non-hot deals. Just ignore them. Besides Tenchi is one of the more awful series to watch, catering to those dopey teenagers.

>> Tenchi was good until they just kept coming out with crap to make money.

The new Tenchi series is being produced by the same guy who did Puni Puni Poemi and Excel saga, and, well, if you've seen either . . .

Looks like the third season will be very interesting 🙂

hey beeebeeebeee your wrong, thats a great price for Tenchi Muyo Ultimate Edition. You shouldn't be so quick to crap. Just because you don't like Tenchi Muyo doesn't mean its not a hot deal.

I will sell you my TM ultimate collection for $60 (perfect condition). After the 5 or so episodes, there is a noticeable change in the plot for the worse (the same thing happens in 3x3 eyes and in DNA). But hey, if you like this inconsistent, latter-half fan-fodder storyline with a group of unbelievable characters ... fine. But, if you want much better romantic comedy, get the original ... season 1 Ranma 1/2.

Regarding Eva (I rented this entire dvd set to see what the hype was about), it has good animation but the plot is average and then has an agonizing plot nuclear meltdown at the end. The episodes were too much like Power Rangers (e.g., in every episode, a monster appears and it's up to a group of teenagers to save the day ... the monster is inevitably defeated ... bring in the comedy relief). Also, the monster were really generic (e.g., circles, squares, lines, ... I mean come on ... have some imagination). I realize there is drama and tension between the characters, but in the end it seems tacked on in an attempt to make this not seem like just another teenage oriented anime. Another gripe: there was never any real danger ala The Game (w/ Michael Douglas). Such a let down.

If you want more realistic drama with more heart ... get Battle Athletes Victory ... it's at a good price at $11/disc ... it's a far far better ride and appeals to a wider audience. Also, Berserk is coming out in May/June. This is probably the best anime in terms of deep character development and great plot.

I do watch certain Japanese animated titles ... but I recommend just the very good stuff unlike fans who buy and recommend everytitle which offers those curious about Japanese animation a great disservice.
