Ten things I hate about tabbed browsing...

I think I might be the only one that feels this way, but I just don't need tab browsing. I'm fine going up the my favorites and selecting the next page I want to go to. I'm not on a dialy-up, so its almost like turning a page of a book.

But, to each his own.

assuming you're on firebird--you can always use tab-warning...

 myie2. iunno if the other tabbed browser programs do this, but with this program, alt+z re-opens the last closed tab. if you go up the 'edit' menu, you can reopen the last 10-15 tabs. 😀

edit: bah, misunderstood what was being said. my bad. yeah, i vote for being choosing the 'prompt before close' option.

to be fair--no one really "needs" tabbed browsing. it's just for convenience (just like the scroll wheel).
it's nice to be able to open up all your favorites with one click. 😉

No one NEEDS a computer, the internet, or any of that stuff either...

I use it more for opening up links from an article or something on a page that I am reading so I can finish what I'm reading first and then go to whatever the link(s) were.

same. i use IE locked down only.

That's exactly why I gave up on using a tabbed browser. I did that all the time. Also, do tabbed browsers work with alt-tab (meaning, can you alt-tab to a different... tab?)? I really don't need a tabbed browser anyway. I just turn off IE's obnoxious feature that groups similar items in the taskbar (I don't know who's genius idea that was, but it sucks), and I make my taskbar two rows high. The two row taskbar is not just because I open a lot of browser windows, but also because I run a lot of programs while I'm working.

Well it's not control... not alt... it's a Meta key!

In FF, there's a plugin that allows you to swith between tabs by holding down RMB and then using the scrool wheel to select the tab you want to go to, no keyboard needed 🙂
