Easy solution: middle click the tab you want to close instead of using the 'X'

It made my tabbed browsing experience that much better.

I really don't need a tabbed browser anyway. I just turn off IE's obnoxious feature that groups similar items in the taskbar (I don't know who's genius idea that was, but it sucks), and I make my taskbar two rows high. The two row taskbar is not just because I open a lot of browser windows, but also because I run a lot of programs while I'm working.

Ctrl-Tab changes between tabs in Firefox.

Also, with TBE, you can get it to prompt if you hit X when more than 1 tab is open ;):)

But, to each his own.

thats not really how its used to advantage. say your searching for something on google. there are 5 links u might want, u hit the mouse wheel over each to open tabs in the background, then u go to the first link. and then some relevant links in that one might be interesting, so u auto load those in the background too.. etc, then u just go through the rest ....at times, with slow websites or whatever or even when not, its just convenient. it allows u to open links u are sorta interested in, but for later since ur not done with the page ur on now.

that or when u open ur daily favorite sites all at once in different tabs instead of going through the damn favorites for each one.

assuming you're on firebird--you can always use tab-warning...

Where's the setting for that? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I hate tabbed browsing and it's one reason why I don't think Mozilla is better than IE even though everyone insists it's the biggest thing since porn hit the Internet (which was a while ago).

I like tabbed browsing because it keeps multiple pages inline. It's not uncommon for me to have half a dozen pages open at once.
