What's your solution? Government-mandated salaries?

And while I won't argue the longshoremen, do you really want your teeth fixed or your plane flown by someone making less money (and thereby presumably less competent)? If so, you may, but I don't. Especially the pilots. I don't think we pay them enough.

I agree pilots salaries are justified.
But it's funny you mention government-mandated salaries. Cause the government mandated laws regarding unions are the reason jobs like longshoreman are paid such ridiculously high salaries.

screw law school, i'm gonna be a skycap. regular hours, no stress, don't bring your work home, job you can do while drunk, sounds good

I am surprised it doesn't list drug dealer on there - I earn 16K/week slinging crack out of the back door of the local domino's pizza... I pay 2K to the owner of the pizza shop, 2k to the local police, and pull in over 500 grand cash per year.

i am for free enterprise, but the union situation doesn't sound like free enterprise, and if dental schools really are controlling the number of people qualified to be orthodontists, that isn't free enterprise either

the pilots are another union deal, so there you go. i will keep flying Southwest 🙂
