temps WAY too high with watercooling.

hi,

I dodn;t plan on overclocking, but my parents got me the thermaltake aquarius 3 watercooling systerm. After the bitchiest install I have ever done, I tirn it on and find my CPU temp to be 109F. The water temperature is being read as 71F. I have uninstalled and reinstalle this piece of equipment, but with no avail. Does anyone have any suggestion as to why my tempsare so high?

Hmmm....

Well if your water is really at 71F, which I don't trust to be right. I would think that the waterblock isn't seated right on the cpu. You did remember to use some Artic Silver 5?

ummm 71f is like near room temp 72 and yeah..... maybe your house is really hot?... and what 109f is near 42 celcius? that soudns liek air coolign now that i think about it, maybe a higher cmfm fan flowing ont the radiator? make sure teh fan is blwoign the right way on the radiator, also arctic silver 5 would help....

depends which processor you have but the amd64 shouldn't be that high. my athlon xp 3000 cools at 52 idle on air and up to 60c on load with my WC setup I dropped nearly 20C.

Do you reside in HELL? Cause if you don't sounds to me like you have no waterflow at the sensor or you have no radiator working at all.

Please excuse the typo's, I'm sorry.

The heatsink is seated properly, but I did not use arctic 5.
I do realize the aquarius 3 is not the best watercooling system, but I"m sure it's something I screwed up.
I've searched extensively, but cannot resolve the issue, so thatnks very much to anyone who can be of assistance.

How do you check the water temp? You should stuck a thermometer into the water and make sure that the readings are correct. Also, the CPU temp reported by ABIT (especially AV8) is usually much higher than it actually is.

In my case, my water temp measures 30C, water block measures 30C, but the CPU temp by reported by ABIT EQ is 55C.

due to the zeroth law of thermodynamics, your water, your waterblock and your cpu must be the same temperature
