temps higher while computer is on carpet?

Are temperatures higher when the computer is on the carpet? Do you think I would have a cooler system if I put my tower on my desk.

If the carpet is preventing airflow from getting into your case then putting it on your desk my be better otherwise there should be no difference.

Carpet tends to also make more dust enter the case.

Hence, you tend to need to clean comps more often if they sit on the carpet.

agree here, i did exactly that and it helped with temps and dust

however in the case at that time 3 120mm fans and a 92mm Vantec Tornado blew so much air that dust was not an issue
