I just ran into something I can't explain.
I'm running my i7 860 at 4GHz, testing various cooling solutions on my Megahalems.
I was running two nominal 3200 RPM Japan Servo DC Centaurs, CNDC12Z7RP in push-pull configuration. With an ambient of 18c, the fans were cooling CPU0 at 66.5c on OCCT/Linpack.
Then I reran the test 2 - 3 minutes later. This time, CPU0 got down to 65c.
So I put my two Ultra Kaze 3000's in push-pull. First run (still an ambient of 18c), 65c. Wait 3 minutes. Next run: 64c.
OK, so the differences are not huge, but they are consistent. If anything, I expected the temps to go up with time, not down.
Any ideas?
