I asked on another forum what "Diode 2" since I've had previous overheating issues. He told me to "not worry about it, it's just a sensor." Surely, it is a sensor but how can I ignore a temperature like that on my motherboard? Do you guys agree with this? Last time I checked with a different program, it was my video card.

Just because a sensor exists on the pll chip does not mean it's in use, I've had speedfan installed on so many different motherboards and some of the sensors report temp's of negative 47C. or 275C. Unless you can confirm the reading with another method it's possibly not in use. I also have had a video card which ran at over 100C most of the time and the warning temp in the program supplied with the card was nearly 150C.

Edit:

A thought just occured to me, if the temp does not vary at all the sensor is almost certainly not in use.

It varies from 115 to 117 degrees. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what this is and if I should let it really bother me.

Try some other temp monitoring programs to try and identify it. Since it's not your processor the only thing that might get that hot is a vid card, but you're not using the card while taking that screenshot, so that doesn't make sense... I asume you've checked all the fans are running and free of dust? If that's true and you're not getting crashes and freezes I wouldn't worry.

It's pretty unlikely that you have anything temperature sensitive enough requiring measurement that, 1) has a normal operating temperature at ~115 C, and 2) varies less than 2%. The program's likely not reading the correct temperature or the sensor's not hooked up.
