Temperatures using ASUS Probe

Hi, I was wondering if there will be any difference on the motherboard temperature between idle and full load? My motherboard temperatures do not change at all when my computer is at full load or idle. However, my processor temperature does change. And another thing, my processor temperatures fluctuate between 18C idle to 30/35C full load, while the motherboard stays at an almost constant 30C (at anytime of the day or night). Shouldn't the motherboard temp be lower than the processor.

...this is using an ASUS CUSL2, P3 933 with stock fan/heatsink.

Thanks.

If you search for CUSL2 in this forum, I am sure you will find the answer to your question. This matter has been discussed in a number of threads. You may want to surf http://www.cusl2.com for info, too. Good luck.

Asus PC Probe shows a wrong CPU temperature. The CPU temperature cannot go below the mobo temperature unless you are using water cooling or liquid nitrogen cooling system.

To get the correct reading for your CPU temp, just add 15 degree C to the temperature shown on the PC Probe. That will give you a close approximation of your CPU temperature.

Hope that the correction will be made sooner from ASUS.

Good Luck

PIII 700e@933MHz on CUSL2
(can go above 1GHz but not very stable!, looking for some good memory and cooling system)

Is there another program that I can use besides ASUS probe? I tried Motherboard Monitor but it reports the same temperatures.

By the way, thanks for the link to CUSL2.com
