Hilarious.

EDIT: If they had Asian parents, they would not only know the difference, they'd be able to do the conversion in their heads. Without moving their lips.

Hey it just depends on the material, no matter what earthly temperature it is, we can always find something material at the boiling point. But sometimes we may have to play with other variables like atmospheric pressure to be more inclusive on our materials lists.

Its why its more democratic to be inside of a large star still engaging in nuclear fission. Where every atom is in the plasma state. And the laws of chemistry no longer apply since electron shells can't form around atoms. As for molecules, they no longer exist thus reducing the materials list, simplifying everything, and making life as we know as impossible.

Did you goof too? :sneaky:

Whoever wrote that needs to stop drinking so much ethylene bromide.

How the hell can anybody reach adulthood and not notice that folk survive 100 degree heat but nobody survives a boiling water bath.

apparently, not everyone notices that

EDIT: Also, there's apparently saunas that go to 140 C (284 F).
Seems like it's okay for a short time, provided there's not enough water in the air to transfer the heat into you.

WTF AP doesn't have a fact checking department to catch this sort of thing? This is like one of those "funny news clips" that show up on Jay Leno.

:D Which is kind of like saying that a machine that pitches grenades at you is okay for a short time, as long as no fragments hit you. Except of course the grenade pitcher would be more comfortable.

these are the departments that have been quickly tossed out with the recent woes surrounding journalism and newspapers. Maybe not so much fact-checking--but the editing staff is often gone first.

They would still be moving their fingers across an imaginary abacus (if you don't believe me watch videos of Asian kids doing math).

I was so proud that my 8 year old son could tell me what was wrong with that article :)

Congratulation. You've done a big portion of your job as a parent, either by directly teaching your son, or by providing the environment for him to be productively taught by others.

There's a big difference in the ability of water to transfer that energy vs. air. Which on a slight tangent always bothers me to show people freezing in space. I figure in a vacuum with no way for the heat to be stripped from our bodies, we'd be quite warm.
