Hmm. That's a good one.

I say that one mis-chiev-e-ous, which according to dictionary.com is technically correct...

Pronunciation note:
Pronunciations of mischievous with stress on the second syllable: /m?s't?ivi?s/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [mis-chee-vee-uhs] Show IPA or, less commonly, /m?s't?iv?s/[mis-chee-vuhs], instead of on the first: /'m?st??v?s/[mis-chuh-vuhs], are usually considered nonstandard. The pronunciation /m?s't?ivi?s/[mis-chee-vee-uhs], with the additional syllable, occurs by analogy with such words as previous and devious.

...even though in the sound clip, they pronounce it mis-chie-vous.

OP would hate Philadelphia as well. He'd be annoyed by the locals saying things like "jeetyet?" or "down the shore" or "da Iggles." And then the said locals would kick his ass.

As a Philly resident, I could not agree more.

And how is one suppose to pronounce it? People always pronounce it that way. Well more like temperchur but some use the i as well.

Correctly. How it's spelt. Tem-per-ah-chur.

Because every words correct pronunciation is exactly as it is spelled. That's ridiculous (OWAIT RIDICULOUS ISNT PRONOUNCED AS ITS SPELLED OMG)

How do you pronounce 'ridiculous'?

ri dick yu lus. Instead of ri dick yu lows as the spelling might indicate

Only an idiot would think "lous" suffix indicates a pronunciation of "lows".

That's how they talk in Flight of the Choncords and in the bonus material on the LoTR DVDs.

Honestly, I'm still not sure New Zealand exists, or New Zealanders for that matter, b/c I've never seen them in RL. Only in movies and in print....so I still assume they're mythical story devices, like unicorns and eskimos.

We're shy by our nature, but you can usually coax us out of hiding with a jar of Marmite and a can of Tui.

You've seen LOTR right? We're not tall. Marmite should be spread pretty thin, so any size jar will do.

On a completely unrelated note..

I want a pet Kakapo. Can you get me one? ;)

Such an awesome bird.. Breaks my heart that they almost went extinct, although their numbers have doubled.. Now there are ~120 of them, instead of ~60. :(

Yeah they're beautiful, it's a terrible shame what has happened to their population.

Hey, do you like Marmalade?

Marmite = Marmalade.

No it doesn't.

But reminds me of it more so than Vegemite.

Thank about it.
