I was looking to install Motherboard Monitor 5 on my PC but when it came time to configure it, I noticed that under the supported motherboards, that the LanParty UT nF3 250GB isnt there. Any other programs out there that would let me monitor my system temps?

DFI does include ITE with the CD that's bundled. This will show fan speeds, temperatures and voltages.

By the way don't be surprised if your temps are high -- depending on what core you're running. I have the 64 3200+ Newcastle core (512k l2 cache) and my board reads at 53C. Yes, 53C at idle.

I was originally freaking out about this because I have a Zalman all copper cooler on the CPU. I installed the stock heatsync cooler and I was running at "74C" and stable. Yes that is 74 C according to the ITE software that's bundled with the DFI board. And yes it was stable! CS:S, iTunes and Prime95 on torture test all running happy as lambs, but I was supposedly at 74C and sometimes higher. OK this is a little off topic now but just wanted to let you know so you don't freak out like I do just in case. And if you didn't know AMD rates all processors to as high as 70C, which is really not where you want to be.

P.S. DFI has not released a BIOS fix for the temperatures as far as I know.

I have 49-50c idle(!) and I'm almost positive that it's wrong. I completely covered the HSF and ran a linux CPU burn-in app for 15 minutes. Heatsink got hot, but no issues. I think the sensors in this board are hit or miss. Time for some real-world tests and maybe a BIOS flash.

BTY, how do I see what BIOS version I have? Didn't see it.

AMD 64 3000, no overclock, ever. Stock heatsink and compound.

I have the 250GB UT. The CD that came with the board had "smartgaurdian" in it. I used it initially to monitor the temps. I also downloaded "fanspeed" from the web. Idle my temps are around 28-32 and with full load goes upto mid 40s.

Exact same problem here. Crazy temps all over the place.
