I just built a new system with the Gigabyte 965P-DS3 mobo and a Celeron D 351 (waiting on a C2D). Using the stock HSF, the BIOS is reporting temps around 70 C after running for awhile. However, using either SpeedFan or the EasyTune 5 software, I get a CPU temp of around 50 C (at idle), or 60C (at load). I think Intel says that about 68C is the max stable temp for this CPU. It seems to run fine, but I haven't left it on for more than about 3 hours so far.
I'd prefer to believe the software rather than the BIOS. Any idea which is more accurate?
Also, why would they be different? I would have thought that the BIOS and software would be getting the temps from the same source?
Thanks,
Tim
