temperature question

I have two evga 7800GTs in SLI and both are operating perfectly fine at stock settings. My question is that after extensive game play one of my cards will be reading 55-60 degress Celsius, but the other card is around 78-80. Is there a problem here or is this due to the cards being so close together that there's no room for heat to escape?

Just wondering as if something is in fact wrong with my cards fan or something else I don't want to wait and have it fry. Thanks for your help!

You didn't say what case or motherboard you have, which would make a difference. My guess would be that the heat from one card is being trapped by the other.

If it is airflow restriction causing one card to be hotter than the other, then a side intake fan may help the situation.

I would use my IR temp probe to check the GPU temps to be sure, but if you don't have one, it would be difficult to check accurately.

I have a DFI SLI-DR board and a Thermaltake Xaser III case, I have the side door off to try to aid with air flow

I don't have a IR probe, just using the temperature setting gauge built into the nvidia drivers, as well as monitoring the bios and using SpeedFan
