With MBM5 no longer in development and Speedfan lacking some basic features (such as displaying more than 1 temperature in the system tray, overheat alarm/shutdown, etc), I'd like to find any good basic/complex temperature monitoring utilities.
Speedfan is actually promising, but as I mentioned I can't get it to display 2 temperature readings (and I also don't see how to display the 2 temperature readings I want, not just the reading it wants to show) and it lacks any alarms (to my knowledge, again I only downloaded it and messed with it for a few minutes last night).
It's sad that MBM is no longer in development; the auto-updates do help (last update was in September I believe), but generally it's a dud and way too complex for my needs. I just need temp/fan speed/voltage reporting (in the system tray) with overheat alarms/auto shutdown. A high/low real-time report (like that found on MBM) would be a huge bonus.
Specifically, I have a Soyo P4i865PE Dragon 2 Plus v1.0 motherboard with a P4 2.4C and MBM will not give me accurate temp readings for the life of it. I selected the proper board from the list of supports motherboards, but there's no way my CPU is running at 70C, especially when the BIOS says it's at 38C.
Long story short .. please post the temperature monitoring utilities you use and your experiences with them.
