Temperature analyst needed!

I got an athlon 64 running at 44 Celcius at load with a thermaltake Big Water system.

I also put some arctic silver 5 (half a tube).

These temps are in my opinion quite high for the deveices I use.

My case temp is 33 Celsius.

Normal or not?

I'm really confuse right now.

I saw some bench from someone using the same kind of processor. He got about the same temperatures as me.

Anyway, I didn't start to overclock. I'm asking myself if water-cooling is performing better than air cooling for overclocking.

Half a tube? You used half of tube on your processor when applying the water block?

half a tube of artic silver? What the heck? your only suppose to use as much as about a grain of rice

anyway whats your hardware specs? 44c is good for full load.

Dude, you need to clean off all the AS. You only want to use enough to fill in the ultra small cracks...I use an old double sided razor to smear on the smallest amount, then seat the sink.

yeah, how did you even get all that on there? my xp-90 ran at 38c load beforei started overclocking, and its about 42c now. you dont want so much that the water cant cool the cpu.

I just checked my artic silver 5 tube, and I can assure you that I didnt put more than 20% of the tube.

I got only a thin and slick layer of about maybe .2 mm.

Now, I got 39 celcius at idle in medium speed (radiator fan only)

I will check if the performances are better in overclocking.

There weren't enought coolant on the pump, and that the reason why cpu got so high.

Okay, I just clean up the artic silver compound from my processor. I still got the 39 Celcius.

I will give some news when the thermal paste gonna get dry. It was a new PC, so maybe that's the reason why I can get optimal results.

Well, maybe some peoples can inform me if it's the case.

Good news everybodies, it was in fact my motherboard Bios. I<m now at 30 degrees at idle at medium fan speed (25 dbs overall!!!).

With that kind of performances, I can only recommend the Thermaltake Bigwater system.
