I was looking to set up temperature monitoring in our enclosed server rack, but I am at a loss as to what I need to look for, or where I need to be looking.
What I need is at least 2 sensors, with one at the top of the case, and one at the bottom.
It would be nice to have them plug into a pci card or something that can be put in one of the servers, keep a log of the temps, and then email or text message me if the case reaches X deg.
Do any of you know of a way to do this?
Another option is just to have it display the temp of each thermometer on an LCD panel so we can monitor it that way, but the notifications would be the ideal situation - providing it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to implement. 😉
