Temp sensor not working, any other way to temp CPU

My temp sensor clearly can't be working properly.

I will watch my CPU temp jump from 40 down to 30 in a second and then jump another 4 degrees while the computer is idle. and then fluctuate 4 degrees.

I have been battleing with a new install of a xp-90c and haven't been happy with the temp, now im thinking im not getting a good read.

Are there any other ways to monitor temps? Any 3rd party component?

i've tried MBM and im using cool and quiet. But these use the same method.
