Temp problems?

I have the LX-6A19 w/Mod pkg. 4 from Jim @ Coolcases.com. I also had him add an exhaust fan on the left side panel over the video card.
My pc is near the register for the heat/air, so it's not sitting in a freezer or oven.
My temps w/normal pc operation (surfing, freecell, word processing) runs 41c & 34c (cpu & motherboard). I'm using the Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 64. These temps were taken using the Asus PC Probe that came w/my K8V SE Deluxe. The cpu is the A64 3200+. Please check My Rig for more details.
I have all my cables neatly tied & routed. My ps cables are sleeved as well.
Ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Well, I just thought that it should be cooler compared to some of the temps i've seen of similar cpu's that were overclocked.
I did take the compound off the Freezer Pro & use AS5 before installing. Perhaps that was a mistake.

My temps keep increasing gradually...worse under load.
I'm sure I mounted this thing the right way...fan blowing towards the back of the case...but i'm not happy with its' performance.
Will I be better off w/an XP-120?

Can 'we' assume you've checked all the 'obvious' things -- fans/fins aren't packed with dust -- thermal compound hasn't dried out -- ambient room temps haven't risen, et cetera...

*edit*

BTW, none of the links in your sig work, except eBay! For instance... 😉

For your Rig you've got this: http://www.anandtech.com/mysystemrig.html?id=16064

But, it should be this: http://www.anandtech.com/mysystemrig.html?rigid=16064

For your Heat, you've got this: http://www.heatware.com/eval.php4?id=589

Yes, i've checked the "obvious" things. The fins are clean as a pin & the AS5 is less than a week old. The pc is in a room that's centrally heated & cooled (cooled, at the present).
Thanks for letting me know about the links too, btw.

I've heard that the base of the freezer isn't always flat but tends to be concave/convex (I forget which) in which case a thicker thermal goop like arctic coolings MX1 paste is needed to fill the gaps better. AS5 doesn't span bigger gaps as well.

I've seen too many people getting in the mid 30's at idle for similarly equipped machines & some even slightly overclocked. I just thought my temps were too high for what i've got.
Perhaps i'll try lapping the hsf.

You bet! All thermal greases do!

Is there something better than AS5? (not wanting to start anything here, tho)
Yep! I've been using Scythe MX-1 for the last few weeks, and I like it a LOT better. If you surf the tests/reviews, you'll find MX-1 trumps AS5 in every aspect, except ease of application! 🙂
