Temp on slave 6870 goes up when idle

I have a set of 6870'es in crossfire. Lately I've noticed that the fan of the slave card sometimes spins up for no apparent reason when the card is running idle. (sits on win7 desktop) Checking it up in gpuz show the temp of the card around 60C, and the card is running 300 MHz on both core and mem. Normally when idle it will be around 45C.

Going into gpuz and looking at the sensors for the slave card usually fix the problem ad hoc.

Has anyone else experienced or maybe solved this?
