I was all set to get the soltek until i started reading about people saying their board was showing temps of 70. Apparently the board is not showing the right temps and it seems like it might end up being a problem. If you don't know how hot your cpu is running and you're overclocking, you might end up messing up the processor, right? Would this temperature issue be a reason not to get this board?

you can always use an external temp monitor. They arent always as accurate, but you can ussually add 5 to 10 degrees to the temp and it would be pretty accurate. Besides if you get good cooling, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Usually if your running beyond the heat the system can handle it will freeze / lock-up / etc. Then you know to turn it down. Just o/c in small increments. At least that's my oppinion. I wouldn't let it keep you from buying the board you really want.
