My thermostat is set to 57 or so but upstairs my thermometer says its 61-62. Wunderground reports the outdoor temperature as ~33.

Since it's gotten fairly cold outside my roommates and I have made a habit of sitting on the couch together, occasionally with blankets, to keep each other warm (think what you want, but being shoulder to shoulder with my buddy beats being cold). That is the only way I can tolerate hanging out downstairs in my house for more than 30 minutes. Otherwise, I stay in bed under my covers.

33 degrees outside and are already cuddling with your roommate for warmth?
 
I tend to go for 72F+ in the house. It's usually 76F in my room if I can get it that high. I need it warm. :/
 
We set the thermostat to 71 in winter. Yes, its a bit warmer, but we feel its better to pay the gas company a little more than having to take off work for the flu. Likewise, in the summer, we prefer it a bit chilled, like fine wine at 68 degrees.
 
Right now it's -15C outside (5F). Inside this room is 30C (86). I have a shitload of electronics in this room. I actually added a graphics card to my server just so it could fold proteins and heat the room a bit more. I also switch the lights in this room from fluorescent to incandescent in winter just to add a bit more heat. The rest of my house is incredibly cold, I would estimate around 10C (50F).

77F in the Summer (ceiling fans in all rooms on 24/7) and 74F in the Winter is what i set my Thermo at...
 
70F when we're home, 66F when we're not. 66F at night. I sleep much better when it's cold.

When summer rolls around, the AC gets set at 70F during the day (75F when we're not home) and 68F at night.

If it were up to my wife, the thermostat would be set to 80F year round. She's always cold. Fortunately for her, I radiate heat at night.
 
Overnight and during the day, the thermostat is set to 58. Weeknights and during the weekend it's 65. I also have a tower heater in my bedroom that keeps it toasty at 70 when I'm in there and drop it to 60 overnight.
 
During winter, I keep it around 68°F during the day and down to 64°F at night or if we are going to be away for a long period of time. It is around -20°F with the wind chill right now outside, so I may bump it up a bit, maybe to 70°F when i get home from work.
