Sorry if this question has been posted before, but I'm really worried about the temp of my 900mhz T-Bird. I have the 900Mhz T-Bird on the ABIT KT7 w/ RAID and upon installation, the thermistor within the socket was not bent down, I tried to bend it down so that the thermistor would just barely touch the core of the CPU. Now, i used the "pencil" method to unlock my CPU and success! I had the T-Bird running at 1Ghz. I used VIA's HW monitor to see what the temp was and it was around 52-54c idle!? I powered down and whiched back to 900Mhz, and repowered up. Idle was 49-51c. Is that normal?? I'm sure my 900Mhz T-Bird might go higher than 1Ghz, but the heat is really bothering me. I'm using a CoolerMaster fan that I came with this oem cpu. Any replies are appreciated. Thanks

the coolermaster sucks. That temp is normal. Mine came with a coolermaster boxed, it did 52C after 3 hours full load. Got a vantec and its down to 49C

Is aluminium T-Birds in general run hotter than copper T-Birds? I ordered a Alpha 6035 in hopes of cooling this CPU more. I don't feel comfortable with the temp being this high. I'll post new results when I get the Alpha cooler.

reading the above, i really wonder why my 800mhz tbird reaches a temp of 58°C, full load and 55° when running idle with a standard Socket A cooler. damnit..

I have a tbird 800 oc to 935 using 8.5x110 and I have 40c under full load for hours! My senser is right next to the core under the heatsink. I was getting 47c under full load using vantec fan w/ normal compound. But now I am using arctic silver and FOP32-1 fan.

Mine is 47c right now using just the Taisol heatsink/fan for a 900T-Bird I think I will get some case coolers(have none installed).BTW the highest it gets to is 49c.
