temp files windows vista

I should know the answer but I don't how do you control how much temporary crap files stay on the PC. I forgot to run disk clean up for a long time & I had 16GB of temporary files. My old XP machine had even more, apparently the GF looks at more porn than I do. Not trying to conceal anything I just don't want multi gigs of garbage saved. I'm bound to forget to run disk clean up again.

Don't think you can really limit it in any way, unless we're talking Temporary Internet Files, or the IE cache. That, unless something has changed significantly, is set to some percentage of the total size of the HDD. Once you hit the limit, it will automatically delete the older files in order to make room. You can also adjust this limit up and down, but the main point is that it has a fixed maximum.

That's it temp internet files its in IE correct? What about Chrome?

Like said, every browser has its own set of cache files, and pretty much every browser has some kind of hard limit on how much space it will use. With Firefox it appears you do have to set it manually, but it is an option, and I would assume Chrome is on one side or the other. Either it's possible and you just need to turn it on, or it is handled automatically.
